Science vs, Podcasts owned, award-winning, will only release a new episode that targets the problem of information on their own performance to impose harder rules. Host Wendy Zukerman and Editor Blythe Terrell said the decision was in direct response to Spotify support from Joe Rogan, a move that “felt like a slap on the face.” Spotify found himself mired in controversy at the end of January 2022 after Joe Rogan hosted a doctor who made a claim about the Covid vaccine which had been repeatedly denied and proved wrong. Unfortunately, nothing was highlighted, making it look as if the doctor quoted facts.

Backlash was fast and severe, with Neil Young pulled the music from the platform. According to Engadget, he was not alone. Joni Mitchell pulled his music, and Brené Brown paused his popular podcast. India Arie and Graham Nash said they would attract their music too, quoting other problems with Rogan podcasts, including their tits on races.

Even though there are high signs, Zukerman and Terrell’s decisions about science vs. may be the most embarrassing and symbolically destroyed for the platform.

In an open letter to Spotify CEO Daniel Elk, Zukerman and Terrell said they would no longer produce a new episode of podcasts – except for episodes that target wrong information on Spotify. That’s right, the Spotify award-winning podcast itself will now focus on the problem of the information platform itself until the problems are handled properly.

“On Sunday, Spotify publishes its platform regulations, but we don’t think they are far enough,” the duo wrote. “Until Spotify implements a stronger method to prevent the wrong dissemination of information on the platform, we will no longer make new science vs. episodes, unless what is intended to ward off the wrong information spread in Spotify.”

Duo also said they would examine various strategies used by large platforms for content being in an effort to determine its effectiveness. Duo welcomed dialogue with Spotify to help further company efforts.

It seems that spotify is open to it, with the Terrel Tweeting company “wants to work with us, which feels like a step in the right direction.”

Spotify problems currently function as a warning story with the content platform and the media not to ignore their views that have helped make the platform popular. Doing this can lead to significant problems, expensive defections, and embarrassing internal rebellion.
